Some individuals with an autism spectrum disorder have food allergies or intolerances, digestive issues (constipation, diarrhea or both) or behavioral issues (self-stimulatory behavior, inattention, hyperactivity, etc.) that can be exacerbated by certain foods.  For these reasons, some parents choose to try specialized diets and/or supplements.
